Tamil Nadu government on Thursday committed itself at Madras High Court that it will install GPRS instrument in all autorickshaws within 3 to 4 months.
24 police inspectors of the Greater Chennai Police Department have been transferred. Transfers are ordered for administrative conveniences, disciplinary reasons and requests. Greater Chennai Police Commissioner has ordered the transfer for these 24 police inspectors.

Chennai may have water scarcity

Puzhal lake is one of the important reservoir which supplies water to Chennai City. The reservoir’s capacity is 3300 million cubic feet.The lake was filled to the brim because of heavy rains during the last year. Now because of the scorching heat, the water level is drastically coming down.
Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner Tha Karthikeyan, 45 bank representatives, 25 representatives of service department and 27 exporters participated in a consultative meeting which was headed by Corporation Mayor Saidai Duraisamy.
Patrol cycles were distributed for Chennai police for patrolling purposes.Last month Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa distributed 250 cycles to the policemen. These cycles are being utilized in all the police stations in Chennai.
