It is important to note that in this village is present the popular Sri Bhavani Amman temple. It is worthy to note that 'Aadi' month is special in this temple and in this month thousands of devotes come to this temple to have darshan of this Goddess Sri Bhavani Amman. Situated on the banks of Arani river this temple is fantastic and this Goddess has got links to Lord Krishna.

It is said that Lord Krishna's uncle King Kamsa kept his sister Devaki and her husband Vasudev in a prison. Their seven babies born in that prison were killed by this king.
