In Tamil Nadu under Public Distribution System, rice, wheat, sugar and other essential commodities are sold through ration shops at subsidized rates. Sugar is sold for Rs 13.50 per kg for green and white colour card holders.

Following the selection of Sasikala as the Assembly Leader in the AIADMK party meeting yesterday (Sunday, 5th February), the present Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam has submitted his resignation.
Sasikala was elected as leader of the Legislature Party at a meeting in the AIADMK party headquarters. In continuation of this, arrangements are being made for her swearing in ceremony as Chief Minister at the centenary.
