Butcheries to remain shut on 24th Jan

The Chennai Corporation has ordered closure of butcheries on 24th January, owing to the memorial day of Vadalur Ramalingar.
Projects that have generated 418.9 MW of solar power have been commissioned by the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO). Small firms have been installed with capacities between 1 MW and 50 MW.
Amma Call Centre to address grievances

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha has launched the Amma Call Centre that will hear and address peoples grievances.
Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni told that the final electoral roll for all the districts would be published on Wednesday. Mr. Lakhoni was in Madurai in connection with imparting a one-day training programme for District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police from eight southern districts.
A MoU has been signed between India Post and Ministry of Railways for the issue of railway tickets through Passenger Reservation System. Railway tickets of all classes can be booked in the following post offices. It has also been mentioned that Tatkal tickets can also be booked.
