In view of the flood situation caused by the unprecedented rains in Tamil Nadu, the Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari has ordered suspension of toll collection on all National Highways in the state till December 11, 2015.
Army Flood Rescue in Chennai

The Army has 40 Rescue and Relief teams and 5 Engineer teams carrying out rescue operations in the most critical areas of Chennai.
In continuation of rescue & relief operations by the Indian Air Force in flood affected areas of Tamil Nadu and on completion of airlift of 04 National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) teams from Delhi and 10 NDRF teams from Bhubaneswar to Arakkonam.
Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy said that his Ministries and associated PSUs remained committed to provide all possible support during Chennai floods.
In continuation of rescue & relief operations being undertaken in flood hit Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh , the Indian Air Force has airlifted 17 teams of National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) teams from Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Bathinda.
TANGEDCO has announced that people living in the flood hit areas of Chennai North, Chennai West, Chennai Central, Kancheepuram, Chengalpet and Cuddalore can pay the electricity bills up to 15th of this month without fine.
