Knowledge Vs Wisdom

The topic “Knowledge Vs Wisdom” has always been a great contrary and there is always a difficulty to express each term on prior basis. It is a great difficulty to assure which is the most needed for a person to be as successful as ever. Both are considered as the highest values in life for a person to nurture him/her self and helps to grow with great self esteem. It mainly depends on what you choose to be – knowledge or wisdom.

Let’s first differentiate the meaning which corresponds to it.

Knowledge is what we have learnt through education, experience and the information which we have learnt or aware of.

Wisdom refers to being wise where this implies to being clear and judgmental of making an analysis of knowing the beauty of facts.

Knowledge is what makes you who you are now and it is the wisdom which makes you stand apart from others by making you wise and intelligent. Knowledge can be gained by many who has gone through the course of studies and learnt through experiences. Whereas wisdom is something attained within the person, can be also called as a gift from god. Knowledge is something where you can get information about everything and anything in this world with the power of technologies; but to gain wisdom the first thing you need to know is your ignorance which will helps you to attain wisdom.

Marilyn vos Savant who charmed the world through her remarkable significance of achievement as “Highest IQ” stated a quote on knowledge vs wisdom as…

“To acquire knowledge, one must study; but to acquire wisdom, one must observe”.

In reality we find many people who hold multiple degrees but still have a tough time to own a job in hand. The other set of people would be who have performed well in academics but failed to succeed in performing at workplace or in life are mostly who lack the pure wisdom which they themselves are ignorant about it. In life, in this competitive world where technologies are booming at its own pace we have to gain knowledge to keep ourselves updated and also to be wise to be a successful person. Both the values can never be distorted but it needs a deeper understanding to know the importance and to get acquainted to ourselves so that we are not left behind and ignoring the fact that either of these is important.

It is up to the person to decide whether he/she gives prior importance for knowledge or wisdom but never forget that gaining knowledge without wisdom is of no means in making you achieve great things in life. It can never make you a successful person if you do not have the wisdom and without knowledge you will never know the in-depth ignorance to attain wisdom.
