Studying is only one of the parts in the preparation to get good marks in the exam. No matter how hard you study, as a student if you don't know how to go about preparing or taking the exam, you will not be able to achieve as much as you want.
First step in preparation of the exam is to know how important the examination is to you. Based on the course you are going to pursue , say Engineering, Medical and so on , you should know the required Marks level and set the target at least 20% above that . For example: if you have to join only Government Engineering college as the fees are one tenth of the private engineering colleges. The target should be in the band of 95 100%. My target should be able to score 120 %.i.e. if you are allowed to answer all questions instead of leaving them in choice you should be able to score 120 marks again. In other words you should be able to answer all the questions equally well to score maximum. Similarly if your aim is getting 60%, you must set your target at 80% and if your aim is only to pass then your target should be 60%. For example: If you want jump 56 you must develop capability to jump 6 Feet only then will you jump 56 in 10 out 10 times. Otherwise you will definitely trip at least in 5 tries out of 10. For instance in a match, you are given only three tries for the record 56for which you are not hundred percent sure that you will jump 56. You have to take into considerations the aspects of nervousness and tension, in a match or an examination, which is very natural.
The difference between students who score 100% and students who score in a band of 90 to 100% is the silly errors committed by them in the exam. Errors such as + in place of -, numbers not written properly, end not finished properly in Maths, spelling errors in English and Tamil. In terms of intelligent level and understanding level there may not be any difference between students who score 100% and the students who score 80%. The real difference between them is in their study methodology or the way they practice studies. The parents play a very significant role in the students achievements. Out of 10 students who score 100%, 9 have their parents behind them. The home ambience is one of the most important aspects in the students performance. Of course there are students who have scored 100% from living in Huts, and some who studied from under the Street lights. In those situations the explanation is: it is absolute commitment and self belief, self motivation and sense of responsibility, and the sense of feeling that their life depends on education. They naturally adapt right methodology, which includes learning the lessons properly. She/he will not blame anyone or anything but will keep their focus on studies, they are passionate, obsessed, they are on a mission and not just on another assignment. Once if every student gets that feeling, surely she/he will score 100%.
