The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast a gradual intensification of rainfall across Tamil Nadu over the coming days, with northern and delta districts expected to experience heavy rains from November 17.

According to the latest weather bulletin, light to moderate rainfall will continue across most parts of the state until November 16, after which the intensity is likely to increase significantly.

Immediate Forecast – Southern Districts in Focus

The weather department has predicted rain for eight districts in southern Tamil Nadu today, with heavy rainfall expected at one or two places in:

- Ramanathapuram

- Tenkasi

- Thoothukudi

- Tirunelveli

- Kanyakumari

These predictions follow widespread rain reported across several southern districts yesterday.

Chennai Weather Today

Residents of Chennai can expect partly cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in some areas.

- Maximum Temperature: Around 33°C

- Minimum Temperature: Around 25–26°C

Weather conditions in the capital are expected to remain pleasant and humid, with intermittent showers likely in the evening.

The intensity of rainfall is forecast to increase sharply starting November 17, affecting several northern and delta districts.
