Posted on: 11/Nov/2025 11:58:35 AM

The Tamil Nadu government has announced a major Aadhaar registration and update drive for school students across the state.

According to the announcement, 79 special Aadhaar camps will be held daily in 16 districts, including Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Sivaganga, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Kanyakumari, and Ooty, to update and register students’ fingerprints and Aadhaar details.

In the next phase, 300 additional camps will be organized in schools across Tamil Nadu from December, using 300 new Aadhaar registration devices. The School Education Department will provide a list of students who need to register or update their Aadhaar.

Currently, 637 Aadhaar service centers are functioning across the state at taluk offices, municipal offices, and block development offices, offering all Aadhaar-related services such as new registration, updates to name, address, phone number, fingerprint, and photo. These centers operate Monday to Saturday, from 10 AM to 5:30 PM.

The government has also urged the UIDAI to display all 637 centers on its official website for public convenience. Citizens are encouraged to make use of their nearest Aadhaar service centers to avail of these services.
