Thunderstorm Warning for Chennai Today

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has warned that Chennai is likely to receive heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms today. Residents are advised to stay safe.
According to the RMC, the rainfall is due to a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. Weather experts predict that Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, and Tirupattur districts will receive heavy rainfall.
Additionally, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Chengalpattu, and Kanchipuram districts are also expected to get rain. The department further stated that northern Tamil Nadu is likely to experience rainfall throughout this week.
