Apple recorded the highest growth among the top five smartphone brands in India during Q1 2025, with a 23% year-on-year rise, shipping a record 3 million units, according to IDC. The iPhone 16 was the most shipped model, contributing 4% of total shipments and 32% in the $600–$800 premium segment, which grew by 78.6%.
The average selling price hit a new high at $274, while 5G smartphones made up 88% of total shipments, with 29 million units shipped. The mid-premium segment ($400–$600) doubled its share to 6%, driven by Apple’s iPhone 13 and Samsung’s Galaxy A56.
Qualcomm saw a 40.8% growth, while MediaTek`s share dropped to 43.6% amid a 25.5% decline. IDC expects low single-digit growth in shipments for 2025, with rising prices pushing mid-single-digit value growth.
