CMRL Achieves Record-Breaking Ridership with Over One Crore Passengers in July 2025
The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has achieved a remarkable milestone by recording its highest-ever monthly ridership since inception. In July 2025, CMRL transported a record 1,03,78,835 passengers, crossing the one crore mark for the first time in a single month.
This impressive surge marks an increase of 11,58,910 passengers compared to June 2025, which saw 92,19,925 commuters. The day with the highest single-day ridership was 4th July 2025, witnessing 3,74,948 passengers using the metro services.
This achievement also comes as CMRL celebrates 10 years of commercial operations, having consistently served as a safe, efficient, and reliable travel partner for the citizens of Chennai.
