Due to ongoing flyover construction work, traffic diversions will be implemented in the Central Kailash area starting Friday, August 1. The Chennai Metropolitan Police Traffic Division issued a press release on Wednesday outlining the changes.
The construction is underway from the Central Kailash junction on Rajiv Gandhi Salai to the Tidal Park junction. As a result, the road width on Rajiv Gandhi Salai has been reduced, causing significant traffic congestion, especially during morning hours.
To ease the congestion, a temporary traffic diversion will be enforced daily from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Vehicles traveling from the Central Kailash junction towards Tidal Park will be permitted to use a 300-meter stretch of the opposite lane (normally used for Tidal Park to Central Kailash traffic) up to the U-turn near VHS Hospital.
This arrangement will take effect from Friday, August 1, and aims to streamline traffic flow during peak hours.
