Chennai Extends Deadline for Pet Dog Rabies Vaccination and Microchipping to December 7
The Greater Chennai Corporation has extended the deadline for rabies vaccination, microchipping, and licensing of pet dogs until December 7.
As part of its dog population control program, the Corporation is administering sterilisation, rabies vaccination, and microchip tracking for both street dogs and pet dogs through GCC veterinary hospitals, shelters, Tamil Nadu veterinary hospitals, and private veterinarians.
So far, 65,422 pet dogs have been registered online and 24,477 licences have been issued. The earlier deadline of November 24 has now been extended considering requests from pet owners.
Pet owners can visit veterinary centres in Tiru Vi Ka Nagar, Pulianthope, Lloyds Colony, Nungambakkam, Kannammapet, Meenambakkam, or the Sholinganallur Animal Birth Control Centre to get their dogs vaccinated, microchipped, and licensed.
