Tamil Nadu witnessed light to moderate rainfall in several locations during the 24-hour period ending at 7:00 AM yesterday. The highest rainfall of 5 cm was recorded in Karaikal and Thiruvarur, followed by 4 cm in Nagapattinam, and 3 cm each in Thalaignayiru and Velankanni in the Nagapattinam district.
Low Pressure Expected to Form Over Southeast Bay of Bengal
A cyclonic circulation persists over the South Andaman Sea and its surrounding regions. Due to this system, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal today.
This system is expected to move in a west–northwest direction, strengthening into a well-marked low-pressure area over the central parts of the south Bay of Bengal by November 24. Over the next 48 hours, it may further intensify while continuing towards the southwest Bay of Bengal.
