Southern Railway has cancelled eight EMU suburban train services operating between Chennai Beach and Chengalpattu on July 9, 13, and 15 due to a four-hour line and power block at Guduvanchery yard for engineering works.
The line and power block will be in effect from 1:40 pm to 5:40 pm on all three days in the Egmore–Villupuram section.
As part of the cancellations:
Four Beach–Chengalpattu EMU services departing between 11:28 am and 1:45 pm will remain cancelled.
Four Chengalpattu–Beach return services departing between 1:35 pm and 4:25 pm will also be cancelled.
To minimise inconvenience to passengers, Southern Railway will operate special EMU services:
Beach to Tambaram: 11:28 am, 12:02 pm, 12:30 pm, and 1:45 pm.
Tambaram to Beach: 2:30 pm, 3:15 pm, 4:00 pm, and 5:24 pm.
Passengers travelling on these routes are advised to plan their journey accordingly and use the special Tambaram services during the engineering block period.
