What has been there for long long time is now to be called unethical. The Medical council of India with the support of Union Health Ministry has woken up. They are contemplating on the punitive action to be taken on the Doctors who accept gifts from the Pharmaceutical companies.

UNIVERSITIES TO PROMOTE RESEARCH.
The Commonwealth Science and Technology Academy and Research thought eh institutions function under its banner will soon attempt to bolster research. It was announced by A Kalanidhi their Vice Chairman. A P J Abulkalam, Former President in his key note address said that faculties with initiatives were important to promote quality research .

TEN SAPLINGS FOR EVERY ONE TREE FELLED.
The Tamilnadu Infrastructure Development Corporation has informed that it would plant 10 sapling for every one tree felled. Trees have been felled to widen the roads. There was petition in High court against felling of trees. TNIDC filed counter affidavit saying that the corporation had earmarked Rs 25 lakhs and Rs 27 lakhs respectively

AUTO STRIKE IN THE CITY.
Most of the Auto rickshaws went off the road on Friday as a token protest against the fuel hike. It has put hardship on many school children who use Autos for commuting to school. Apart from this people arrived in to city in late or early hours were affected

DIABETES SCREENING FOR OBESITY SCHOOL CHILDREN.
A group of Doctors will undertake study on School Children of 50 Private, Public and aided schools on the causes for Obesity, Diabetes and other disorders. The study will include screening blood samples for Sugar, Blood Pressure, and Cholesterol and Lipid profile. Apart from this children�s eating habits and other activities will also be recorded.
