Chief Minister Vijay to Lay Foundation Stone for ₹1,700 Crore Non-Leather Footwear Factory in Karur

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will lay the foundation stone for a ₹1,700 crore non-leather footwear manufacturing unit during his visit to Karur on Friday, July 10, 2026.

According to the Karur District Administration, the new manufacturing facility will be established by Evervan Kothari Footwear Private Limited and is expected to generate employment opportunities for around 13,500 people.

The project is expected to strengthen Tamil Nadu`s position as a leading hub for the non-leather footwear industry while boosting industrial growth, exports, and employment in the Karur region.

Officials said the investment will contribute significantly to the state`s manufacturing sector and provide large-scale job opportunities for local youth.
