Wonderla Chennai Set to Open Soon: High-Tech Rs 600-Crore Park Nears Completion
Chennai is gearing up for a major addition to its entertainment landscape as Wonderla Amusement Park nears its grand opening. Known for its world-class rides and thrilling attractions, Wonderla’s newest project is being constructed in Chengalpattu district, and promises to be a game-changer for Tamil Nadu’s leisure and adventure tourism.
Sharing an update on the project’s progress, Executive Chairman and Managing Director Arun Chittilappilly said, “Our Chennai project is racing soon to the finish. Thanks to my entire team for building this ₹600-crore behemoth, a high-tech park, in a scanty 24 months.”
Opening Date Expected on December 15
While Arun’s latest update did not mention the launch date, he had earlier stated that the park would open to the public on December 15. With Christmas and New Year holidays approaching, the amusement park is expected to attract a strong crowd from Chennai and neighbouring districts.
A Massive New Destination for Tamil Nadu
Spread across a vast land area in Chengalpattu, Wonderla Chennai will include state-of-the-art water rides, land rides, thrill machines, kid-friendly attractions, entertainment zones, and advanced safety systems - aiming to offer an international-standard amusement experience.
Construction, which began in 2023, is now nearing completion. Once opened, Chennai will become home to Wonderla’s fifth amusement park in India after its popular parks in Kochi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar.
With its extensive offerings, the new park is expected to boost tourism, weekend recreation, and family entertainment options in and around Chennai.
