The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has announced that light to moderate rainfall is likely in a few areas of Delta and southern districts of Tamil Nadu today. Puducherry may also experience mild showers over the next two days.
According to rainfall data recorded in the last 24 hours until yesterday morning, Uttu in Tirunelveli district received 2 cm of rain.

A upper air cyclonic circulation persists over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining regions, influencing weather conditions in Tamil Nadu.
Because of this system:
Isolated locations in the Delta districts, southern Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry may receive light to moderate rain today and tomorrow.
Shallow fog is expected during early morning hours across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next two days.

Chennai and suburban areas are expected to witness:

- Light early morning fog
Fishermen Alert
Wind speeds are likely to remain strong over the Gulf of Mannar and Kanyakumari Sea.
The weather office has advised fishermen to avoid venturing into these waters due to rough sea conditions.
