As Cyclone Ditwah moves closer to Chennai, the city has been experiencing steady rain since midnight, turning into heavy rain with strong winds from early morning.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Chennai and Tiruvallur districts, warning of very heavy rainfall today.
Additionally, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Ranipet districts are expected to receive heavy rain.
