Gold Prices Continue to Rise in Chennai: Evening Rates See Fresh Increase
After a sharp surge in the morning, gold prices in Chennai climbed further by ₹70 per gram this evening, marking a strong upward trend on the first day of the week.
The price of 22-carat gold, which stood at ₹11,410 per gram earlier today, has now risen to ₹11,480 per gram, while the rate for a sovereign (8 grams) has increased by ₹560, reaching ₹91,840 per sovereign.
Similarly, 18-carat gold saw a rise of ₹55 per gram, taking the new rate to ₹9,570 per gram. The 18-carat sovereign is now priced at ₹76,560, up by ₹440.
Silver prices have also inched up once again this evening, increasing by ₹2 per gram, now retailing at ₹169 per gram. The price of one kilogram of silver stands at ₹1,69,000.
Market analysts suggest that the continued rise is driven by global bullion market volatility, a weakened rupee, and increased local demand ahead of the upcoming festive and wedding seasons.
With prices showing no sign of stabilizing, experts advise buyers to track daily fluctuations closely before making major gold or silver purchases.
