Gold Price Surges by Rs. 1,600 per Sovereign in Chennai This Evening
After witnessing a sharp fall earlier in the day, gold prices in Chennai rebounded strongly this evening (October 30, 2025), rising by Rs. 1,600 per sovereign, signaling renewed market activity and festive demand.
The price of 22-carat ornamental gold now stands at Rs. 90,400 per sovereign (8 grams), up from the morning rate of Rs. 88,800. Similarly, one gram of gold has risen by Rs. 200, reaching Rs. 11,300.
Earlier this morning, gold prices had dropped by Rs. 1,800 per sovereign, but evening trading brought a swift recovery following global market gains and a slight weakening of the rupee against the U.S. dollar.
Analysts say the fluctuation reflects ongoing uncertainty in the international bullion market and high local demand ahead of the wedding and festive season.
Meanwhile, silver prices in Chennai remain stable at Rs. 165 per gram and Rs. 1,65,000 per kilogram.
Jewelry traders expect continued price volatility in the coming days as festive buying picks up momentum across Tamil Nadu.
