Kancheepuram to Get New Rs 40 Crore Bus Terminus Near Chennai - Bengaluru Highway
Kancheepuram is set to get a new modern bus terminus as the Kancheepuram Corporation has approved a ₹40 crore project to be built on 11 acres of land near the Chennai–Bengaluru National Highway. The decision brings relief to residents, traders, and thousands of devotees visiting the historic temple town.
The existing bus stand in Kancheepuram, built nearly 60 years ago, is struggling to handle over 300 buses daily, leading to congestion and inconvenience, especially during festival seasons. With court clearance now granted, construction of the long-pending project is expected to begin soon.
Once completed, the new bus terminus will ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity to western Tamil Nadu districts, and offer better facilities for passengers.
