5,932 Special Buses to Tiruvannamalai for Chitra Pournami Festival

In view of the Chitra Pournami festival, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will operate 5,932 special buses to Tiruvannamalai from various cities, including Chennai, to accommodate the expected surge in pilgrims. A press release from the Managing Director of the State Rapid Transport Corporation confirmed the arrangements.

On May 11 and 12, special buses will run alongside regular services to handle the large number of passengers traveling for the religious occasion. From Chennai alone, 1,156 buses will operate from the Kelambakkam bus stand on May 11, and 966 buses on May 12. Additionally, 150 special buses will be operated from Madhavaram on May 11 and another 150 buses from Koyambedu on May 12.

Apart from Chennai, 1,940 special buses will be operated from other cities to Tiruvannamalai on May 11, and 1,530 buses on May 12.

The State Express Transport Corporation will also operate 40 luxury buses equipped with both seating and sleeper facilities to ensure passenger comfort.

To reduce crowding and ensure smooth travel, passengers are encouraged to book their tickets in advance. Special government buses to Tiruvannamalai can be booked from major cities including Chennai, Madurai, Salem, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Tenkasi, Tuticorin, and Bengaluru.
