Diabetes Research Institute and Dr Balaji of Diabetes Care center were honored with Life Time Achievement Awards
for service to people , diabetic patients in particular. The award instituted
by M V Hospital for Diabetic is named as Professor M Vishwanathan and D R Gold Medal
Oration Awards While speaking Dr Vijaya Vishwanathan , Managing Director , M V
Hospital for Diabetics said the Diabetic population in India was steadily
rising; from the present figure of 57 Millions it is expected to go over 80
Millions soon.Diabetic is a life style disease; major reasons are stress, bad
or unhealthy eating and food habits, apart from the fact it is also
hereditary. Diabetes has no age. One may
get diabetes at any point of life. Eyes, Kidney and heart are organs which are
affected directly if Diabetes is not under control. Therefore Diabetic patients
must be in touch with doctors regularly. Apart from Monitoring and controlling
diabetic levels constantly, the diabetic patient must get their, Eyes, Kidney
and heart regularly checked by the Doctor/s. Important not to be worried but be
disciplined in taking kind of foods and be always happy; avoid getting into
pressure situations.
