The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are no prospects of rain for the next 5 days and only dry climate will persist during these 5 days though the Bay of Bengal is stormy due to the effect of the cyclone Papuk.

Cold conditions to continue till Pongal. Hosur becomes colder than Ooty and Kodaikanal. Western & interior Tamil Nadu district such as Tiruppur, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Coimbatore, Vellore continue to shiver in cold temperature.

Frost reported in many hill stations in South India. Valparai shivers at 3.5 C while Ooty is at 4.4 C. Cold Nights spread across Tamil Nadu. This will continue for another one week
