Chennai Metro receives 3 new trains at Koyambedu depot on the same day
Yesterday, Alstom delivered coaches for train numbers 30, 31 and 32 as part of the Rs 1,471 crore contract signed between Alstom and Chennai Metro Rail Ltd for 42 train-sets in August 2010.

Metro Rail in Chennai in 3 new routes: Project study completed for 60 km

Work on the underground Chennai Metro Rail in Anna Salai begins
The metro rail works between DMS and Saidapet was stopped after CMRL terminated Gammon Indias contract for delay in the completion of work.

Chennai Metro Rail works will be completed by 2017
There are some remaining works pending in CMRLs Chennai DMS and May Day Park corridor. Keeping in mind the prices of spare parts and construction materials, CMRL had floated fresh tenders adjusting the amount of project evaluation rating.
