Metro Rail work resumes in Anna Salai
After a hiatus of 15 months, the metro rail work between Chennai DMS and May Day Park has begun. Metro Rail has decided to complete the entire work by March 2018.The phase I of the project covers 45 km of the city that extends.

Chennai Metro Rail Limited to collect ticket fare from mobile balance
Chennai Metro Rail Limited has decided to collect the rail fare from the mobile balance.Metro Rails are being operated between Alandur and Koyambedu in Chennai. Now the operations between Little Mount and Airport will commence this month.

CMRL to commence commercial operations between Airport - Little Mount from October
It has been decided to operate train services between Chennai Airport- Little Mount and Alandur-St Thomas Mount from the month of October. The final inspection of the Chennai Metro Rail stretch from Little Mount to Chennai airport.

Chennai Metro Rail: Services between Little Mount-Airport to be started next month
The budget session commenced in the Tamil Nadu legislative Assembly on 26th July. The state finance minister, O. Panneerselam, presented the budget session in the assembly.

Tunneling work for the Phase I extension CMRL project soon
Recently, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa laid foundation for the Metro Phase I extension project. Chennai Metro Rail will soon start tunneling work for the Phase I extension project from Washermanpet to Wimco Nagar.

Koyambedu-Alandur metro to begin by month end
On 29th of June 2015, Chennai city started enjoying metro services for the first time ever. Metro train between Koyambedu and Alandur was initiated on this day.Now, metro construction works between Chennai Airport and Chinnamalai are completed in the first route.

No direct Metro from Koyambedu to Airport
A direct service of the Chennai Metro Rail from Koyambedu to Chennai Airport is unlikely for the moment.

CMRLs request for concessional power tariff turned down
The TNERC - Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission, has said no to a petition from the Chennai Metro Rail Ltd, or CMRL, to provide concessional power tariff retrospectively.
