Direct metro rail from Koyambedu to Chennai Airport soon
Officials of CMRL have mentioned that very soon, direct trains will be run on the loop line available at Alandur so that direct train connections can be provided from Koyambedu to the airport.

MRTS and Chennai Metro Rail to be merged
A consultancy firm will be soon entrusted with the work to prepare a detailed report on merging the MRTS with Chennai Metro Rail. According to officials of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).

Metro rail between Alandur and St Thomas Mount to commence in another three days
Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety Nayak along with his team inspected St. Thomas Mount station and the service loop beyond Alandur. It is understood that the trains will also be operated in this stretch in another three days.

Little Mount - Chennai Airport Metro line to be thrown open to public tomorrow
Sources have said that the Metro Rail services on the Little Mount - Chennai Airport line will be available for public use from Wednesday. The line will be opened by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha.
