First underground metro line may be commissioned before deadline

Trial runs on Shenoy Nagar - Nehru Park stretch of Metro to begin next year
Chennai Metro Rail Limited, CMRL, is gearing up to conduct trial runs in the stretch in January next year with all electrical and electronic systems in place. At present, trains are being tested.

No Wi-Fi at Chennai Metro Rail for time being

CMRL will accept demonetised notes till Friday night
The Chennai Metro Rail will accept the demonetised Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes till Friday night. An official said, Rs 500 and 1,000 currency notes would be accepted from commuters.

90 per cent of the tunneling completed by CMRL
