CMRL hires PwC to merge with MRTS
As a move to push the initiative to merge Chennai Metro Rail Limited and Mass Rapid Transit System, the CMRL has hired Pricewater House Coopers last month. The PwC will function as a consultant to carry out all finances.

Thirumangalam-Nehru Park underground services from next month
The tunnelling and all other associated works are completed in the section of the Metro Rail Project between Koyambedu and Nehru Park. The public service is set to start soon.

Plans to install solar lights in Chennai metro railway stations
As one of the initial measures to save electrical energy consumption, 25 solar lights are to be installed in Chennai metro railway stations.

Chennai metro service between Thirumangalam - Nehru Park from June
With the tunneling work having been completed in the section of the Chennai Metro Rail Project, the officials informed that it is planned to commence public service of the Chennai Metro Rail between Thirumangalam and Nehru Park.

Testing of the Chennai Metro Rail tunnel section Koyambedu-Nehru park soon
The Indian Railway Safety Commissioner is scheduled to conduct the testing of the Chennai Metro Rail Project underground section between Koyambedu and Nehru Park by the end of this month.

Nehru Nagar-Thirumangalam section tunnel work completed
It has been announced that the underground tunnel track work of the Chennai Metro Rail Project in the section between Nehru Nagar and Thirumangalam stations is completed. This will be opened for public service in 2 months.

CMRL beings track works in North Chennai
Chennai Metro Rail Limited has started laying tracks between Washermanpet Metro Rail station to AG-DMS Metro Rail station, a distance of about 13 km. Laying of track upto Chennai Central.

3 more metro rail routes in Chennai soon
As a second phase of the project, three new routes are set to get metro services and the second project report for the same is submitted to the Tamil Nadu government. Metro rail flies between Chennai Koyambedu and Meenambakkam every day.
