Following the announcement that the schools will be reopened from 1st September for the students of the 9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th Standards, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has now released the guidelines to be strictly followed by the schools, teachers, students and staff.
In this situation, a citizen Abdul Wahab from the district of Thirunelveli had filed a petition at the Madurai High Court to issue the arrangement to continue for online classes as a guideline for the schools.
When this petition came up for the enquiry in the court, the court raised the question to the State Government of Tamil Nadu whether the students will be compelled to attend direct classes in the schools and colleges.
In reply, the State Government of Tamil Nadu mentioned:
Students will not be compelled to attend direct classes in schools in Tamil Nadu! In fact, the decision to reopen schools was taken by the State Government only after due consideration about the students and their welfare and future!
Note that online classes will continue!
The classes will be shared on the internet as well!
Please note that the decision to reopen schools has been taken ONLY AFTER DUE CONSULTATION WITH EXPERTS IN THE ACADEMIC FIELD!
Please note that the coronavirus prevention guidelines will be strictly followed in all schools!
It is worth noting here that earlier, the Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for School Education, Anbil Magesh had assured:
All guidelines will be strictly followed by all schools. So, there is no need for any concern in this regard for the parents and students. The classes will commence at 9.30 AM and will conclude by 3.30 PM.
As there are no classes for Standards 1-5, these classrooms can also be used. Sanitizers MUIST be kept in each class. On each desk, 2 students will sir on either corner of the desk. Thus, there will be only 2 students per desk.
In case students attend schools without masks or in case the mosques are torn, a mask will be given to the concerned student!
