The Tamil Nadu State Government has introduced 25 extra ticket reservation counters in Koyambedu bus terminus on Tuesday in order to ease the rush for reservation during Deepavali. Tamilnadu Minister for Transport V Senthil Balaji inaugurated these counters. This comes after the government’s introduction of 8,350 buses throughout Tamil Nadu including the 4,300 from CMBT alone. The special buses for Deepavali will also start its operations from Tuesday with a split of 700 on October 29, 1,000 on October 30, 1,200 on October 31 and 1,400 on November 1, making a total of 4,300 special buses from CMBT alone and 4,050 from other districts. In order to reduce the crowd for reservation, the government has also encouraged people to use the online booking system, which has seen rising patronage this year.
