If the last week of March was hot and unbearable for the people belonging to Tamil Nadu, then the first week of April would bring some relief for them!! Amazing isn’t it!!
Till 5th of April, the maximum temperature would drop in some districts in TN due to scattered rainfall influenced by a trough. As a result, the people would get mild relief from the scorching heat.
It is noteworthy that the interior areas that have been reeling under sizzling weather and high mercury level might have some respite for some days.
From Tuesday, 1st April to 5th April, the maximum temperature would go down by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. This was brought out by RMC or Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai. From Wednesday onwards, there would be normal or below normal temperature in some pockets in Tamil Nadu.
In most parts belonging to TN, the maximum temperature remained close to the normal on Monday Information gathered is that Karur Paramathi recorded the highest of 38 degrees Celsius yesterday.
Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam in Chennai recorded slightly below the normal of 33.2 degrees and 34.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
From Wednesday, 2nd of April, scattered rainfall of light to moderate intensity might cover up to 50% of the weather stations in TN and Puducherry. This was as per RMC. It was pointed out that the wet weather might be there till 5th April. From 6th April, the wet weather might be limited to one to two places in TN.
The Director of Area Cyclone Warning Centre, RMC, Chennai, Mr. P. Senthamarai Kannan spoke about how a north south trough running up to north TN might have an impact over TN. It must be noted that the extent of rainfall would depend on its changing position and interaction with other minor weather systems.
