The grievances of the Chennai customers would be addressed by means of a new application. This was mentioned by CMWSSB or Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
It was later revealed by a senior official from CMWSSB that if issues related to water charges, taxes, drinking water supply etc are reported by the customer through this application then the officials would ask the relevant area engineers to address the issues. For this sake, a separate dash board would be set up. The status of the complaint could also be tracked by the customer.
Administrative reasons were responsible for the abandoning of the application that was supposed to be launched in 2019. He added that now 90% of the application design work has been completed and the app would come out by the end of September 2023. For any official communication with the customers, a WhatsApp number would be introduced.
Many these days have smartphones and the introduction of a new app would be highly beneficial. This was pointed out by a resident from Mr. N. Elumalai, president of Indira Nagar Welfare Association Nesapakkam in Chennai. He wanted the CMWSSB to take swift action on the complaints issued by the residents.
