Electricity Bill through SMS – From January
The Electricity board of TamilNadu has decided to send the electricity bill via SMS. The necessities for this new plan are under process. When the officials are noting down the meter number from the server box, it will automatically send the bill rate to the respective customers through the SMS.
The message will contain the customer’s electricity card number; bill amount; last date for bill payment and so on. Hence for this work, the electricity board is collecting the mobile numbers of their customers.
About 25 percent of the customer’s mobile number got collected in
Vellore, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts. The process of collecting the
mobile numbers of all customers is under the play. This process will start from
15 January, 2014. The higher official from the Electricity board stated that,
excluding the Agriculture Electricity bill, nearly 15 Lakh customers phone
numbers registration work is going on now. Also to remember the bill payment
last date, the customers will get a remembrance message.
