There is some confusion regarding conducting online classes for TN school students. Soon, this confusion would not be there. For the conduction of virtual classroom sessions, the government of TN would bring new guidelines by passing an ordinance.
Presently, many private schools in Tamil Nadu have started online classes for the new academic year as there is no clarity regarding the re-opening of the schools. The teachers and the school management have framed their own rules in selecting the timings and the modes of the online classes for the students. This has been due to the absence of specific guidelines from the state.
The erratic class timings plus the internet issues have resulted in many complaints from the parents of the private school students. This was according to the Directorate of School Education.
It has been revealed by some education experts that maximum learning at this point in time has been overburdening the students with long study hours, longer screen time plus assignments. There were also complaints that some schools have been demanding the students to wear their school uniforms in the online classes. To restrain the state and center from holding these online classes for the students, public interest litigation has been filed at the HC of Madras.
