NOC denied for 500 schools intending to change to CBSE format

The Tamil Nadu government has stopped issuing NOC (No Objection Certificate) to 500 schools which applied for approval to change from the Matriculation format to the CBSE format.
The syllabus for Samacheer education plan (Balanced education Course syllabus) has been implemented from 2011.
Academicians have raised various questions and issues regarding this syllabus.
There have been persistent demands that as this syllabus is quality-wise, well below in the current technology growth and international course syllabus.
As Tamil Nadu government has so far failed to respond to this demand, many schools are trying to change over the central government syllabus CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).
For this, in order to obtain CBSE course, the schools have to obtain NOC from the government of Tamil Nadu based on the infrastructure.
However, it is gathered that there were negotiations between the Government Department of Education and the Schools.
Especially, when a school desires to change to CBSE format, even if it has the required infrastructure, it has still to pay money.
In this scenario, information has been gathered that the government of Tamil Nadu has stopped from giving NOC to 500 schools which have applied for a change to CBSE. It is informed that NOC is not given due to the reason of insufficient infrastructure. However, as the reality is different, these schools have decided to go to court.
CBSE Schools Association General Secretary R Nandhakumar informed that many schools which applied several years ago to change to CBSE format have been waiting without any result so far. No other state in the country is facing such a situation. The Association had a detailed discussion with the Central Minister for Human Welfare and development, Ms. Smriti Irani, It is expected that the central government will announce that NOC is not required.
