The United Nations has issued a warning to India, which will be affected most as the prices of food items continue to increase in the international market.
With the steep increase in world population already posing severe problems in a global way, the UN has warned the dangerous prospects of the prices of food items doubling. So, in a global context, UN warns that major economies like India and China will be greatly affected.
In a report released by UN, it is mentioned that a loss of 161 Billion US Dollars in GDP (Gross Domestic Product) will be incurred by China and a loss of 49 billion US dollars in GDP by India.
The report also records that with the rising population, the prices of food items across the world will become unstable and there will be a heavy shortage of food and water due to the climate change.
