14.25 Lakh Voters Deleted from Chennai Electoral Roll

As part of the Summary Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the process was carried out across all 16 Assembly constituencies in Chennai district. Following this exercise, the District Election Officer released the draft electoral roll on December 19.
According to the draft list, 14,25,018 voters have been removed from the electoral rolls in Chennai district. After this revision, the total number of voters now stands at 25,79,576.
Officials stated that 35.58 percent of voters were deleted during the SIR process, based on verification and eligibility criteria.
