CMAML Signs ₹167.08 Crore Contract for Integrated Property Development at Mandaveli Bus Depot
Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited (CMAML), a wholly owned subsidiary of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), has signed a major contract worth ₹167.08 crore for the design and construction of integrated property development buildings at the existing Mandaveli MTC Bus Depot and Terminus.
The project marks a key milestone in Chennai’s urban infrastructure growth and aims to strengthen multi-modal transport integration. The proposed development will be seamlessly connected to the entry and exit structures of the upcoming Mandaveli Underground Metro Station and the Mandaveli MTC Bus Stand.
As per the plan, the project will have a total built-up area of 29,385 square metres and will consist of two towers - Tower A and Tower B - each designed with two basements, a ground floor, and seven additional floors. The facilities will include dedicated bus pick-up and drop-off bays, along with commercial and office spaces, improving commuter convenience while optimising urban space usage.
The contract has been awarded to M/s Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited. The agreement was formally signed in the presence of Thiru. M.A. Siddique, I.A.S., Chairman of CMAML, and Tmt. Sweta Suman, I.A.S., CEO of CMAML. The contract was exchanged between Thiru. T. Archunan, Director, CMAML, and Thiru. T. Ravi, General Manager (South), Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited. Senior officials from CMRL, including CGMs Thiru. T. Livingstone Eliazer, Dr. D. Jebaselwin Gladson, and Thiru. R. Ravichandran, GM, were also present.
Once completed, the development will provide seamless metro connectivity, a strong multi-modal transport interface, and modern commercial infrastructure. The project is a significant step towards Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) and aligns with Chennai Metro’s vision of sustainable, integrated, and commuter-centric urban development.
