The announcement of Tamil Nadu Class 10 and Class 12 board exam results for the 2025–26 academic year is likely to be delayed, according to sources in the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE). Officials reportedly said that the School Education Department is waiting for approval from the newly formed government before releasing the results.

Earlier, the Tamil Nadu School Education Department had planned to announce the Class 12 public exam results in the first week of May 2026, while Class 10 results were expected around May 20. However, students and parents are now anticipating a delay in the official release.

The exams were conducted earlier than usual due to the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Parents Concerned Over Delay in TN 12th Result 2026

Parents and students have expressed concern over the uncertainty surrounding the result dates, especially for Class 12 students who are preparing for college admissions and counselling.

K. Tamilselvi, a parent and member of a school management committee, said the government should announce the result date at the earliest so students can plan their higher education admissions without stress.

DGE Introduced Strict Measures to Prevent Malpractice

The Directorate of Government Examinations introduced several strict measures during this year’s board exams to reduce malpractice and improve transparency.

One of the key changes was a ban on mobile phone usage by teachers assigned for invigilation duty at examination centres. The department also increased monitoring measures across exam halls to ensure fair conduct of examinations.
