Open Auction of 85 Seized Vehicles in Criminal Cases on July 9

In Chengalpattu district, an open public auction of 85 unclaimed seized vehicles (two-wheelers and four-wheelers) involved in various criminal cases will be held on July 9.

Those interested in participating in the auction will be allowed to inspect the vehicles on July 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The vehicles are parked at the Chengalpattu Integrated Court Complex, while 22 two-wheelers are parked at the Thirukazhukundram Court Complex. The open public auction will be conducted on July 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the vehicle parking area behind the Chengalpattu Integrated Court Complex.

Interested bidders must register at the Office of the Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Chengalpattu District Police Office by paying an earnest money deposit of ₹5,000 for four-wheelers and ₹2,000 for two-wheelers. They must also submit a copy of a photo identity proof with address, such as an Aadhaar Card or Driving Licence. The earnest money deposit will be refunded after the auction concludes on July 9.

Successful bidders must pay the full auction amount in cash, including 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST), and collect their vehicles immediately after the auction.

It has also been informed that all vehicles purchased through the auction must be removed from the court premises within 24 hours after the completion of the auction.
