Southern Railway Announces Train Service Changes Between Arakkonam and Jolarpettai Due to Maintenance Work

Southern Railway`s Chennai Division has announced temporary changes to passenger train services on the Arakkonam–Jolarpettai section due to scheduled maintenance work on July 14, 2026.

According to an official statement, maintenance work will be carried out between 2:10 PM and 4:10 PM, resulting in changes to the operation of select passenger trains on the route.

Affected Train Services

The Bengaluru–Jolarpettai Passenger Train (Train No. 66550), which departs Bengaluru at 8:45 AM, will be diverted between Somanayakkanpatti and Jolarpettai during the maintenance period.

The Jolarpettai–Bengaluru Passenger Train (Train No. 66549), scheduled to depart Jolarpettai at 3:00 PM, will be partially cancelled between Jolarpettai and Somanayakkanpatti.

Southern Railway has advised passengers travelling on these routes to check the latest train status and revised schedules before commencing their journey. The temporary changes have been implemented to facilitate essential track maintenance and ensure the safe operation of train services.
