Train services on the Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express will undergo temporary changes and delays due to maintenance works being carried out on the Madurai and Thiruvananthapuram railway divisions, according to an official release from Southern Railway.
Route Diversions via Kottayam
As part of the maintenance schedule in the Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division, the Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express will be diverted via Kottayam on the following dates:
- January 7 to 10
- January 12 to 24
- January 26 and 27
On these days, the train will not stop at Ernakulam and Alappuzha stations.
Changes to Chennai Central–Thiruvananthapuram AC Express
Similarly, the Chennai Central–Thiruvananthapuram AC Express, departing from Chennai Central Railway Station, will be diverted via Kottayam on:
- January 9, 16, and 23
This train will also skip Ernakulam and Alappuzha stations on these dates.
Delays in Chennai Egmore–Guruvayur Express
The Chennai Egmore–Guruvayur Express, departing from Chennai Egmore Railway Station, will experience varying delays:
January 3 & 10: 30 minutes delay
January 5, 7 & 14: 1 hour 30 minutes delay
January 8 & 12: 1 hour 50 minutes delay
January 9 & 13: 1 hour delay
January 16: 20 minutes delay
January 20, 23 & 26: 2 hours 15 minutes delay
