Posted on: 21/Dec/2025 10:47:03 AM

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Tamil Nadu has been completed, and the draft electoral rolls have now been published. The draft list is available for public inspection at all polling stations and special camps across the state. It has also been uploaded on the official website, www.elections.tn.gov.in, where voters can verify their names and those of their family members.

Based on the draft roll, voters and political parties can raise objections or submit requests to include eligible voters or remove ineligible voters until January 18. For this purpose, 234 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and 1,776 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) have been deployed to examine the claims and objections.

Eligible voters whose names are missing from the draft electoral roll, as well as young voters who will complete 18 years of age on January 1, can apply for inclusion by submitting Form 6. Objections related to deceased persons or permanent address changes can be submitted using Form 7. Voters who have shifted their residence within the same constituency or moved to a different constituency can submit Form 8 for correction or transfer of details.

All required forms, along with copies of supporting documents, can be submitted to the Electoral Registration Officer of the respective assembly constituency. The forms can also be handed over to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during special camps conducted at all polling stations. Additionally, applications for additions, deletions, and corrections can be submitted online through www.elections.tn.gov.in.

The Election Commission will scrutinize all forms and objections received up to January 18, after which the final electoral roll will be published in February.

As of October 27, Tamil Nadu had 6,41,14,584 registered voters. According to the recently concluded Special Summary Revision (SSR), the draft electoral roll now includes 5,43,76,756 voters, comprising 2,66,63,233 male voters, 2,77,06,332 female voters, and 7,191 other voters.

A total of 97,37,831 names have been removed from the electoral roll, including 26,95,672 deceased voters, 66,44,881 voters who have migrated or do not reside at the listed address, and 3,98,278 duplicate registrations.
