NHAI to Launch ₹3,000 FASTag Annual Pass from August 15 - All You Need to Know
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will introduce a new FASTag Annual Pass on August 15, 2025, coinciding with Independence Day. Priced at ₹3,000, the pass offers a hassle-free and cost-effective toll payment option for private vehicle owners traveling on national highways and expressways managed by NHAI and the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH).
Key Details:
Validity: 1 year or up to 200 toll crossings (whichever comes first)
Eligible Vehicles: Private cars, jeeps, and vans (non-commercial)
Activation: Available through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app, NHAI/MoRTH websites, or authorised FASTag providers
Integration: Linked to your existing active FASTag, removing the need for multiple recharges
Payment: Pay ₹3,000 via credit/debit card, UPI, net banking, or other online options
Coverage: Only valid at toll booths on NHAI and MoRTH highways (not for commercial vehicle toll plazas)
After 200 uses or one year, the pass will automatically switch back to the normal pay-per-use FASTag system.
NHAI says the new pass will make toll payments simpler, reduce congestion, and save time for frequent travellers. Users must ensure their FASTag is active, linked to their vehicle number, and properly attached before purchase. SMS confirmation will be sent after activation.
This is considered the biggest upgrade to India’s electronic toll collection system so far and is expected to benefit millions of highway users.
