Madurai–Chennai Airfare Doubles After Christmas, Passengers Hit by Price Surge

Flight fares from Madurai to Chennai have nearly doubled following the Christmas holiday season, leaving travellers shocked. While the regular fare is around ₹4,300, ticket prices have climbed to ₹8,800 for select travel dates.
Currently, four daily flights operate on this route three by IndiGo and one by Air India. High post-holiday demand and limited seat availability are cited as the main reasons for the sharp hike.
