There is now the convergence of east and west winds in the upper atmosphere in Tamil Nadu.
As a result of this, moderate rains are likely to occur at few places belonging to TN, Pondicherry and Karaikal on 6th May. Gusty winds of speeds 40kmph would be blowing also. The moderate rains would continue till 8th May.
In 6 districts like Coimbatore, Nilgris, Mayiladuthurai, Nagai, Thanjavur and Thiruvarur, there are chances of heavy rains on 6th May.
The RMC mentioned that the maximum temperature in few places belonging to TN is likely to be 3 degrees Celsius above normal.
As per the data on Friday evening, Karur Paramathi recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or 104 degree Fahrenheit. Vellore recorded 103 degrees Fahrenheit or 39.3 degrees Celsius.
Places like Meenambakkam in Chennai,Erode, Madurai airport, Salem, Trichy and Tiruttani etc recorded more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degree Celsius.
